September 21 – October 3, 2009

I saw 9.  I quite liked it, and I can’t for the life of me explain why.  I can enumerate its many faults in detail, but I can’t say why I liked it.  Jeepers.

  1. I saw the trailer for “9” awhile back and thought it looked pretty cool even though on first appearance it looked childish. For some reason the trailer reminded me of The Matrix.

  2. Check out the short film on which the longer one is based: it’s on YouTube and has the same name. It will give you some idea of what to expect, though admittedly, the long film has actual dialogue, more characters, and a slightly fuller plot.

  3. Oh thanks Kari, I have just watched it and it sorta remind me of the other “9” movie, District 9 which was also base on a short film that became a feature length movie. It’s great to see that Hollywood is beginning to take into these short of things.

  4. Having joined the ranks of Ontario Cyclists recently, your rant from a few weeks back was rather helpful! Though I don’t really want to put reflective tape on the forks of my shiny new bike…

  5. Speaking of which…I tried to find reflective tape in the biking section of Canadian Tire yesterday. Do you think there was any evidence of this product that is necessary for cyclists to own if they do not want to BREAK THE LAW? Nope. I’m going to have to try MEC. (The Canadian Tire website does claim the store sells reflective tape. The Canadian Tire website lies.)

  6. Friday’s comic was great, although I don’t understand what that green alien with antenna floating on Casey shoulder is meant to be for.

  7. Knowing my appallingly remiss approach to the characters page, possibly not until next September (Steve took a full year to appear as well). However, maybe I’ll actually get motivated and put something up before that. The problem is that I never have that much to say about the newbies until they’ve been around for a while. “Sara is shy” isn’t much of a bio.
