Well, happy almost-New Year, everybody.  I hope you have better jobs this term than I do.  (I’m not entirely certain that I have ANY jobs this term, actually.)

  1. Is the HG for Hairy Guy? Or Hirsute Gentleman?

  2. Guess #1: Warm. Guess #2: Warm in idea, cold in actual words.

  3. PHG? I don’t even know what PLM stand for, but I do know what HNY stand for: Happy New Year!

  4. I hope your heart (and you yourself) warm a little with my best wishes to you for 2010!

  5. Hope something work wise turns up for you Kari. I myself an stuck between having plenty of work (don’t look elsewhere) and none (should have looked elsewhere). I just wish they could tell me soon before it’s too late to get private students.

  6. Thanks, Mer. Basically, I had two jobs this term (one for which the work is sporadic and I’ll be paid sporadically, plus one course), and I lost the second because not enough students were registered in the course. I did know that this might happen, but the guy in charge kept going, “Oh, everyone signs up in the last week. It’ll be fine. There are always plenty of students.” Then registration was cut off TWO DAYS into the last week, which, natch, was the second day registration was even possible after the winter break. (Sorry…that sentence is confusing. Registration was also possible last term, but few people signed up last term.) So now I’m stuck with one small job that will earn me about half the amount I need to live on. It is, of course, too late to apply for anything else.

Anyone need a tutor or a proofreader? Seriously, guys.

  7. Casey should just admit he is evil and start doing random evil laugh, that way nobody will believe that he is evil, law of the universe really.
