Site Down

Hi, all.  For some reason that is quite unclear to me at the moment, the West of Bathurst site has vanished (in fact, the entire Massey Alumni site is completely gone), and my FTP password has been rendered invalid.  I have been informed that the site has been “hacked,” but seeing as the remainder of the Massey site remains intact, I cannot actually figure out what’s going on here.  All I can do for the moment is be patient and hope that the West of Bathurst site is not gone forever.

The weekend comic isn’t done yet, but when it is, I’ll post it here and on  Ironically, I have a happy WoB-related announcement that I want to make at some point tomorrow, but I suddenly have nowhere to make it.  This is really quite upsetting.  If worse comes to worst, I’ll purchase some webspace and repost the whole comic, but if I do, that will invalidate almost every WoB-related link on the whole Internet.  The fact that this is the second time in the comic’s run this has happened just makes it more frustrating.

I’ll post in the comments here if I hear anything new.  Thank you for your patience.

  1. Sad timing, I was just coming to the site to link one of more of the murder archs for a friend of mine who seems to be playing a similar game (all I have are some cryptic facebook posts about training you friends not to sell you or to your assassin in the lunch line). Hope the problems get solved soon, or maybe I’ll search through comic genesis.

  2. Yeah, I’m really sorry about that. I’ve never managed to create an archive for the Comic Genesis site, so the comics won’t be easy to find. I can tell you the relevant dates (the pages are named via date): Saturday, January 13, 2007 and onward (that one probably won’t work, as I started loading the Comic Genesis site later than the Massey site and was running behind for a while, but the relevant comics probably appeared no more than a month or so after this); Monday, January 14, 2008 and onward; Monday, February 9, 2009 and onward; Monday, February 22, 2010 and onward; Wednesday, February 9, 2011 and onward; Monday, February 5, 2012 and onward; Monday, February 4, 2013 and onward.

And now I notice that some of these comics are not even showing up in my personal version of my “Murder Page.” What in the BLEEDING HECK is going on?

  3. “Worse comes to worst” – So that’s how that phrase is supposed to go. I always thought it was supposed to be “worst comes to worst”.

  4. Earthgirl: I believe both versions are used, but “worse comes to worst” is the original (i.e., something that is already worse becomes worst). “Worst comes to worst” doesn’t actually make any logical sense, but it’s a common variant.
