Hurrah: the Kickstarter has hit its goal four days early. With luck, not too many people will panic and run before Friday. We are, at the moment, sitting at $7,632, so there’s a small buffer. Shall we make it a large buffer? Shall we aim for at least one stretch goal? The first one is at $8,500, which will get you a full month (which is my way of saying “four weeks,” so basically, a full non-leap-year February) of daily comics (maybe six story comics per week and an extra panel on Sundays; I haven’t decided yet). The second one is at $9,500, which will get you two full months of daily comics. Holy daily comics, Batman!
Here’s my quick-and-dirty “Yay, we achieved the goal while I was biking to work, but now I have to go teach for six hours” update. Enjoy, and thanks for all your help thus far. You guys are awesome.
Hello, all. I’ve posted another Kickstarter update here. It contains samples of the book’s inside layout, profiles of the guest artists, Errol Elumir and Peter Chiykowski, and a fair amount of begging.
We’ve reached $6,171, which is fantastically amazing; we need to get all the way to $7,500 by Friday, October 3rd at 8:55 p.m. If you haven’t yet pledged and are planning to do so, you’re rapidly running out of time. Do consider spreading the word a bit; perhaps there is someone out there who has been looking for WoB all his or her life but hasn’t known it. Several people have pledged straight from Kickstarter, which is encouraging. There is room in the world for a strange, frustrating, labyrinthine comic about grad school and fairy tales.
Thanks for all your support thus far. Let us take the next week to knock this out of the freaking park.

I’ve posted a new Kickstarter update here:
The update will give you a look at the book’s back cover; it will also provide a bit of perfectly solemn information about Massey College. There may be a cameo by the dog from Up. I’m just saying.
The campaign is halfway through, and the project is more than halfway funded, but I’m still, of course, all nervous and stuff ’cause that is how I roll. I should actually be marking right now, not posting updates. I have 25 essays to mark by tomorrow at noon. I think I may be in denial about this. I am in denial about a lot of things. It is probable that it would be a good idea for me to stop typing this blog post and go mark something now. I can’t seem to make myself do it, though. I have a coconut roll in the kitchen. Perhaps I should eat it. Perhaps I should clean something. Perhaps I should write another update. Two in one night is okay, right? Please don’t make me mark again. I promise I’ll be good.
Oh, all right. My marking awaits. Have a good night…if you dare.
Hello, all. I’ve posted a new West of Bathurst Kickstarter update. I won’t go deeply into the content of it here, but I’ll just say that it includes a glimpse of the book’s cover, a new WoB comic (also posted over at It Never Rains) dealing with the campaign, and a bunch of other information, much of it rather irreverent. Here, as well, are some handy-dandy links for you:

Thanks for all your help thus far. I should very much be marking right now. I’m not. It’s one of those kinds of Saturdays.
Salutations, blog followers. The West of Bathurst Kickstarter campaign is six days in, and I’ve just posted my second update. I didn’t tell you about the first one because I wrote it when the campaign was only one day old, and it basically said, “I love you! Thank you for not making me play right field!” You may read it on the Kickstarter site if you like. In the meantime, here’s a link to Update #2.
As well, for your convenience, here is a better URL for the campaign:
as well as a banner ad you may use if you like:
I have no idea why it’s so tiny. I even tried inserting a larger-resolution copy; it came out at the same size, and WordPress will not let me drag it bigger. If you really want the banner, check the Kickstarter update (it still appears a little small there, but it’s legible) or It Never Rains or West of Bathurst after 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Thanks for your support thus far. I think I shall go do some marking now. What a surprise.
Greetings, everyone. At ridiculously long last, I have launched the WoB Kickstarter campaign. Please do consider pledging it. I’m quite tired now, so basically, I’m just going to post the central image of the campaign, which is also a link:
Thanks for all your support thus far. Now, LET US DO THIS THING.
