And that’s $8,500…and 23 hours remaining

Hello, all. This will be a relatively quick note, as I have to finish tomorrow’s It Never Rains comic and clean a small portion of my apartment while listening to some random Internet music. I should also be marking, but that doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment, oddly enough.

The West of Bathurst Kickstarter is into its last day now. It’s just reached its first stretch goal (in fact, it’s now at $8,607) and earned you guys a month’s worth of daily It Never Rains comics (probably in January). The next stretch goal, at $9,500, will get you another month. We may not reach it, but who knows?

As of right now, 79 of you have pledged at the book levels, meaning I’ll need to print at least 85 books (2 for contest winners, 2 for the ISBN people, 2 proofs for me). I was planning to print 100 anyway if we hit $7,500, but since we’ve exceeded that, I’ll probably increase the numbers so that I’ll have some extras to sell to people who missed the Kickstarter or couldn’t spare the money just at the moment. I’m not sure exactly how many I’ll go for in the end (I’ll need to wait for the final numbers), but I do find it interesting that pledges at the paperback and hardcover levels are just about even. I wasn’t sure about doing the split printing, but I think it was the right decision.

Thanks for all the support, everyone. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s grand finale.
