Although the way that Marie is sitting remind me of the Dreamworks logo.
Heh…you’re right: it’s from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I didn’t even think of the resemblance to the Dreamworks logo, but you’re right about that too (though the resemblance is unintentional).

Preethi: Which one? Barbara approves of the BBC Holmes (despite her little slapping match with Marie), is not so fond of the Robert Downey Jr. one, and is meh about Elementary. However, she’s really all about the original stories.

Stefan: nah…no celery. She’s a film-noir private eye. She’s actually worn that outfit before (to one of the Winter Balls).
Oooh Captain Hammer, wonder what’s happening with the sequel?
Does Barbara have a little Hobbes tiger? This must be an homage to Calvin’s horrible snowmen, right?
Fan: Yes and yes. There isn’t as much of a chance for horrible snowmen in Toronto, but people do tend to get creative with their pumpkins. Also, the title is in the same script as the Calvin and Hobbes title, and Barbara is wearing Calvin’s shirt.
I would love to see a more detailed drawing of the final pumpkin diorama (probably when you are slightly less behind and slightly less stressed) Good luck with your marking!
Maybe I’ll post a larger-resolution version when I put up Monday’s comic, which may or may not appear before midnight (probably not). Remind me if I forget. It won’t take long; I just need to cut out the panel and blow it up.
